Institute of Medical Engineering, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering (referred to as the Institute) was established on August 15, 2007. The Institute of Biomedical Engineering is one of the largest research units in the field of biomedical engineering within the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is dedicated to the research and development of high-resolution, multi-modal high-end medical imaging technologies and equipment, the development of innovative medical devices such as medical robots, and the integration of low-cost health and rehabilitation engineering technologies. The Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (referred to as "Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology") was established in 2006. It is jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is a national strategic scientific and technological force of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the layout and construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
